Sharing Our Stories: an introduction to gathering and telling stories

Saturday 15 October | 10am – 12.30pm

Fittie Community Hall, 7 New Pier Road, Aberdeen, AB11 5DR

Telling stories is how we make meaning out of our world and our place in it. They are the echoes of events and memories that make us, and our communities, who we are.

Our folktales and myths come out of these stories too, as societies and communities use them to form a shared understanding of place.

Join this community storytelling workshop to learn how to gather, and tell the stories that shape our lives. We’ll look at how to build trust in gathering stories, the ethics of telling someone else’s story, and how to develop confidence in sharing your own.

The workshop will be led by Safe Harbour: Open Sea Storyteller in Residence, Cara Roberts.
